Tarjeta de Navidad (Our Christmas Card)

Obregon Family

Wow what an awesome experience to see a family actually get sealed in the temple, I would of never thought that I would get to see that in my mission but I feel so grateful for the opportunity that I had on Friday the 23rd of December, it was amazing.  I met up with Elder Mitchell and Elder Zapata and we headed to La Molina to the temple.  And we got there and we saw them for the first time in almost a year with new faces but still the same people that we taught and baptized but all with stronger tesitmonies.  Vanessa told us that she has read the Book of Mormon 3 times now, she is the second counselor in the young womens, she is doing great, and then we talked to them for a little while and then they went in to do their inititory work.  And then we went into the session with them and it was an amazing feeling to see one of my converts with here white cloths on , not knowing what to expect.  But they loved it and loved the good feelings they had, and then we went into the sealing room, and me and Elder Mitchell were the witnesses, and they got sealed for time and all eternity, and it was amazing to see that, and then Vanessa and Camila came in and it was awesome to see all of their hands on the altar.  They were super happy to look into the mirrors and see all the generations that are going to follow them.  And then we went outside to take pictures and it was super awesome to see them so happy and then them telling us that we had to go find more people to teach so they could go to the temple also.  And that was the best part, hearing sister guillerma say that to me, that I needed to work hard so more people could do it.  And then we got in the car and headed off, and then it hit me to ask her if she bought her garments, haha and she forgot so she had to go back the next day.  it was super funny.  An experience that I will never forget in my entire life, that is why I am here.

here is the mission mom

HEY FAM!!!

Hey family how are you all doing! I am doing great, here in La Chalaca, it was a great week, we got our investigators to church by the hair of our chinny but hey they got there and them 4 will be getting baptized this christmas eve so that will be great, thanks for all of your concern and support.  And as you can see the tree is up on the wall with all the ornaments, that is awesome, thanks mom, way better than last year, last year the tree always fell down, but this one is hung up nice, and thanks for those hook things i use them also for my towels, it is just what I needed.  And yes I got aunt connies two packages, thanks connie and fam it was great, i eat the candy everyday as I study and there was some pretty cool stuff in there. thanks so much.  But yes this week I will be calling you guys, I hope that you are ready to talk, I sure hope that skype works out for me, I will go to the ladies house this week to try it out.  We worked super hard this last week and had a lot of lessons and a ton of new investigators.  Last night after church we were knocking doors and we were going to knock this door and then all of the sudden the guy opened the door right before we knocked and we started to talk to him and he was like come in, so we went in and he just started to invite his whole family to listen to us and there were 10 people that were there that were listening to us and it was a super good lesson and there were two families there that live in our sector so we will see what we can do with them.  Because we always find a ton of new investigators in my sector it is just hard for them to progress because they live so far away from the chapel.  And that chapel house that we found didnt work out the area said that they were trying to get to much for it.  So I am trying to find a new one but in my sector, if I had a chapel in my sector everyone would go to church.  It would be awesome.
Mom the other day I went to the offices and my ecclesiastial endorsement still isnt in to BYU, can you call them and ask them how that works, it is the only thing that I am missing.  Pres Tyler said that he has to send in a paper with a recomendation and that is the ecclesiastical endorsment, so do you think you could call them and see if they have to send something to Pres. Tyler to fill out, or if he just has to send something in.  Thanks mom your the best.  And if you need it my account is jstauff9 and my password is stinger9.  Maybe blake could help you if you have any questions.  Thanks mom your the best.
That is pretty crazy about the rollovers, just keep up the good work, we cant complain about rollovers.  And tor thanks for the great email, ya the work is super good, I could knock doors all day and find new investigators but it is just hard to get to church.  and the members arent super strong so that is hard.  and there are 6 elders in my ward to we are baptizing a ton of people into the ward but there dont get retained.  it is a weak ward.  but we are trying to help.  }

Well love you all a ton, and we will be talking sometime this week.  Be thinking about when I can call, it will be on sunday so just let me know when you all can, because my church is at 2pm so we will have to either call in the morning or in the afternoon, what would be better, I will call and ask.  Love you.  Elder Stauffer

Hey Family!!

Wow what a week, that is awesome that Lucas is here, tell him hi for me.  Straight from the precense of our Heavenly Father..  Well not gonna lie seeing the pictures of my friends getting home is pretty tough but hey we had a good week also.  But blake looks great and hope that he is enjoying his first day home.  Love ya blake.  This week went really well for us actually.  We did a fast last sunday to have more people with a date and this week we put six more people with a date.  And one of them has been a miracle.  Lander`s nephew at first didnt want to hear anything from us, his name is juan, and he didnt want anything to do with us when we were teaching lander.  So we went the other day to Lander`s house to teach his mom Cleofè to get her ready for her baptism and juan sat down by himself in the lesson, and later that night we had an appointment with his mom and dad and his two sisters.  And we went and had the plan to challenge his two sisters to baptism and explain to his parents that they have to get married to get baptized and juan was in the lesson and we challenged the two nieces for the 24th so they can get baptized with their grandma and when we did juan was like I want to get baptized too, I was in shock , I was like what happened, why is he so cool now.  Yesterday he came to church and everything, it was pretty cool.  I know the Lord answered our fast.  So on christmas eve it looks like we will have 4 baptisms.  And it is a family baptism so it will be cool ...  But it was a good week of work.  We are working super hard to try and talk to everyone that lives in our sector because it isnt very big but it is the best sector in the mission for sure.  So that is awesome that I can end here in La chalaca callao.  I sent you a picture of a tow truck I saw last tuesday and then a picture here in the internet and then the view from our room again, but with all the dogs that sit and bark all night eating the garbage..  It will be super nice to be able to be in a clean place again, haha.  What was blake saying when he got home.  We couldnt write last monday because we cant go to the temple on mondays here so we have to change our pday to tuesday and so that is why I didnt write last monday, but sorry about that.  Yesterday was a joke in the chapel, it is so unorganized and it drives me nuts so now I want to help the ward a little more also..  We walked to the bishops office to talk to him about it after the meeting and i walk in and they are emptying olive oil out of the bottle into a big pot, and i was like hey why are you doing that, and they said, well you cant consacrate oil in the bottle, I was like please.... It was the first counselor in the stake presidency and then they all start to get on their knees and put their hands underneath the pot and my investigator was with the bishop , he is practicly a member but just hasnt gotten baptized, and the bishop told him to join in, i was like whoa bishop he cant because he isnt a member, he was like o ya o ya your right elder..  o man it was killing me............  I just want to feel the spirit on sundays again.   But I will do everything that I can to help.  Everything is good, that is crazy that we are getting down under 100 now, thanks mom for your email.  haha  Still a lot of time to serve the Lord.  But just want to tell ya all that I love ya and that we will be talking soon, and yes I will be calling someday before christmas to see when I can call, haha so be waiting for me.  Let me know how this next week goes for you guys.  Love you very much and hope that all is well with Luke, congrats kod on the name.  haha love ya elder J stauff...

Wow how crazy is that...

Hey family sorry that I didnt write yesterday but hey I am writing now and all is well the temple was awesome this morning and I am sweating my butt off right now with my suit on but I couldnt wait to write you all and see how you are all doing.  It seems like you had a great week and I really wish I could of been there to help but hey I had a pretty good week too.  We had a baptism!!!!!! Whoo hoo...  His name is Lander Wingchonlong.  How sweet is that.  His grandpa was from china and he came over to peru and they put his whole name together and made it his last name, cool huh.  But I dont know what we would be doing in our sector right now if if wasnt for him because we are teaching his whole family now and they are all so interested in our message and his mom will be getting baptized on christmas eve.  and we are thinking that his two nieces will be getting baptized that day also if we can get permission for them.  So that would be a grandma and her two grand daughters, how cool huh.-  Sorry the question mark key doesnt work.  But I was walking in the street the first day here in my new sector, la chalaca, and I gave him a high five because he was playing futbol in the street with his friends and I just kept walking and then five minutes later we walked passed again and so we stopped to talk to him that time and man he was awesome and came to church that first week and got baptized two weeks later and now his whole family is listening, just by giving him a high five, the Lord works in mysterous ways huh.  But we will just keep working.  On sunday we went to the first presidency devotional , it was awesome and then today to the temple and then we went to this mall and there is a picture of us at the mall.  It has been a good week.  O ya mom can you send me face wash, I dont have any.   And that is crazy that Blake is done, and that you guys get to go pick him up.  I still got quiet a bit lift....  Last night we had to change our room around because it was way too noisy at night so we had to put our beds in the other room a little farther away from the window.  so we will see how that goes.  And abraham went and got his birth certificate from Ancash...  So today we are going to be going by to see if he got it or no.  I will let you know.  But this next week we will just be working hard to find some new people to teach and serving, no baptisms this week but we are thinking for the 24th we should have a couple.  Love you all so much, Thanks mom for all of the great pictures, it is great to see the ward serving together, that is awesome.  And thanks for the pictures of the new tree, it looks great.  And ya we are so blessed that we can just pay people to put a new nice roof over our head, when I got here we put a roof up for a lady of just scrap wood , I think I forgot to tell you, so we are so blessed, because the roof we put on was horrible but we did the best we could.  haha Love ya mom, sorry that you had to wait to see if I was okay, but dont worry , the Lord is on our side.  And i sent my passport number.  Thats awesome dad that you were busy, but the best busy is in the service of the Lord huh,  but keep up the good work kod.  Feels good huh... this week we are going to have another baby stauffer right..  sister thanks for your email, your house is tough that is awesome.  how was service. O ya mom great job with the missionary work, keep up the good work, it will all pay off if you just keep at her.  well wish me luck this week.  We will be writing next monday.  PS: I found a place to skype you guys for christmas, whoo hoo.

HEY FAMILY SORRY‏

Hey Family!!!

Hey family how is it all going for you?  It is going great for us here just had a solid week of work just trying to work super hard to be an example for the Callao Zone.  I sent you two pictures, one of my bathroom and yes there is no room it is crazy.  Sitting on the toilet and having to turn to the side because the have put the sink right over the toilet which is crazy.  and then another picture of me and the marriot.  haha because you have booked our room haha how awesome is that.  O ya I was thinking about coming and getting you from the airport that night depending on what time you get in so you can still have the translator there but if you dont want to you dont have to, because I think I will be there.  :) haha But you just gotta let me know what time you will be getting in. haha Man I remember how lost I was when I landed too, haha I didnt understand a word they were saying to me haha.  But I cant wait either it is going to be crazy, seeing the pictures of Jordan just blew me away and cant believe that he is already home and that he got there safe.  haha But we had a good week, we had Lander, Jacky, Abraham and victoria in the chapel yesterday.  And So we had more this time and we are thinking that lander could be getting baptized this saturday or the next and jacky we are gonna put a date, but abraham and victoria have to get baptized.  But a good week we have been working super hard just trying to give it my all knocking a ton of doors asking everyone who we can teach and finding some people.  My sector is crazy, my shoes get so dirty, it is like walking on four wheeler trails and ya my shoes will be toast at the end of these next couple months.  But I still have alot left to go .  I always think that it is getting close but it is still far away , alot of work left to do before I can rest.  I have a couple cool experiences that happened to me this week.  So we knocked this door and a pretty cool lady answers and told us that she was listening to the missionaries a couple months ago and that she was busy and if we could come back a different day and so I said ya thats fine, and then this dog comes up to the porch and starts to shake like dogs do after they get out of the bath and I thought it was slobber, but then I look down at my agenda and there was blood all over my agenda and then I start to turn my back to the dog and there was blood on my shirt and man it was a mess of just dogs blood that he was shaking and it got all over us and so we spent the rest of the day with dogs blood spots on our shirts.  It was gross but hey at the same time awesome because I would of never had stories like that in the office.  And another story is we were walking down the street in our sector and I saw this door and I felt the need to knock it, it seems to stick out to me, and so we did and this guy answered and just opened it a little bit so we could barely see his face and we said hey brother how you doing and all that good stuff and we asked him if we could come in and he said sure, one sec, and he opened the door and his daughter was seated there and his son and his wife (well his girlfriend because they arent married) it was awesome to find a whole family like that together becasue it doesnt happen to often and we showed them pictures of our families and then we taught them and it was a good lesson and we will see what we can do there.  The dad told us that he is looking for the truth.  But we really had a good week of finding new people to teach, but now it is just finding them again and getting them to church.  But I will just keep working hard.  President Tyler called me last night and told me that I have to find a Casa Capilla  ( that would be like a house chapel, I dont know how to say it in english) and that I have to do it this week.  Because the chapel that we go to is too far away and so the stake wants to open up a branch where I am at and then combine the other part of the ward with other wards, so that is exciting to find a closer place for us to go so that we can have more in the chapel.  But the only thing is that is wont be this nice chapel it will just be a house and that is where we will be having our sunday meetings it looks like.  But wish me luck. haha O ya that is an awesome idea for the webbs way cool.  But for Pres tyler you dont need to buy anything if you dont want...  O ya another experience, we were teaching this lesson and we went into the house and there was dog poop and pee on the floor and I sat down like right next to it, and the lady didnt even care and so I was like ya whatever and then in like the middle of the lesson my backpack strap fell in the pee and I was so grossed out it was nuts, and now you know how my sector is.  There are millions of dogs, because we are right by the beach and everyone just dumps their garbage out on the beach and then all the dogs come to eat the garabe.  SO ya practilly I am serving in a garbage dump with houses on it.  haha but it is awesome because the people are so humble but at the same time not married.  This friday we had a meeting in the office and got to see the webbs and Elder Diaz and it was awesome to go back. I felt a little sad not to be there any more but I love my sector and the work that Elder Sagastume and I are doing.  He is awesome also and so we are doing good.  But this next week coming up we have a few service projects planned to paint and help abraham lift some tree trunks from the garbage so he can sell them to make some money, and excited to help but not excited to sort through garbage.  haha and so we will be super busy .  Love you all so much , And just so you know kod, Lucas is spelled with an A.  Love you all a ton.  Have a great week mom and dad love you both, thanks mom for the boxes and yes sister I will pray for him.  Hope all goes well with steph , let me know how it is all going.  Hope all the nephews and niece are good.  Keep up the great work tor and tam. Hows the countdown dev?  Elder Stauffer.

A Missionary Christmas

I skipped the sales after Thanksgiving. The thrill just wasn't there.
No pictures taken with Santa Claus, My decorating has no flair.
His presents are shoes, shirts, and ties, two suits and socks...no fun.
I've bought him all white clothes because...

This year I'm giving Christ my son.

I've spent more time in the temple, my testimony stirred.
I've reread November's Ensign, Felt strength come from His words.
Our family prays more frequently. My tears are quick to run.
Abraham seems closer because,

This year I'm giving Christ my son.

I wonder how those Lamanite mothers, gave their sons to war?
Or how the pioneers chose Zion , their sacrifice was so much more.
My loss will be his presence, I'll miss his smile a ton
For two years we will pray for him,

 I'm giving Christ my son.

I stare at his face when he's not looking. I memorize his eyes, their
shine. He's always hungered for the part of him, that makes his soul
divine.
The stories and lessons he always heard, His choice and mine are one.
I'll put my faith in God's hand,

 This year,

I'm giving Him my son.

Past gifts have lost their glitter; I think I finally understand
Christ's birth should be celebrated by giving Him a hand.
It's because I know Christ lives and reigns that all his packing's done.
My gift has taken years to make, This year...

 I'm giving Christ my son.

I know there's One who understands, the sacrifice I'm making.
Who knows the gift I willingly give, The toll it will be taking.
For He has done it all before Greater love - there could be none.
For years ago God gave to me,

His only begotten son.

 The hands I washed, the hands I held, The hands I taught to pray;
Now knock on doors to find the ones Who will listen to what he'll say.
Because I know Christ needs him, Until all the gathering's done,
My gift has taken years to make.

This year...I'm giving Christ my son.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FAMILY!!!

Hey family thanks for all of the great emails and pictures, it is crazy that it is getting snowy there because it is starting to get pretty hot here haha but I had a great week just getting back to work.  I sent you a picture of my companion, his name is elder sagastume.  He is from guatemala but a cool fact about him is that he lived in Holiday for 6 months and worked in Park City. He is awesome and has about 6 days in the mission.  haha I am training him and he already knows everything, I dont even have to do anything.  He is a really cool guy and we already get along great.  These last ten days have flown by for me.  President Tyler sent me to La Chalaca 3 and I am opening the sector because before there werent missionaries, a while ago there was but he put us back in now and so we have just been trying to find more investigators.  My sector has to be the coolest sector in the entire mission, dirt roads, poor people living in little shacks, and they have never seen us before so they all listen to our message it is awesome.  It is going to make these last few months fly but we have a lot of work to do and I want to baptize so we will see how it goes.  The chapel is so far away from our sector that we have to take everyone in a bus and they dont want to go in bus so that will be a struggle.  But it is just like in san luis, I had to take everyone in bus.  But I also sent you pictures of the view from my room, clean huh?  I dont live in my sector that is a part of the ward but we have to walk to our sector and so we just live close.  In my sector there is nothing but dirt roads and it is just like if I was in the provinces of Perù and so happy that I get that experience but my shoes and pants get super dusty and so mom I will be needing alot of wet wipes and maybe in the package every week you could put a little package of wet wipes.  I like to clean my shoes with them, it works good.  I still have a lot from the last time you sent them to me but I will for sure need more.  But ya I dont have hot water in the shower.  So I have to get used to that again because I got spoiled in San Isidro as assistant haha but I am happy to be out in the field again, I loved being assistant but at the samed time I always wanted to work and now I get to do that.  But now I feel so wierd not being in charge haha but o well, I have my little district to be in charge of now.  haha My zone is called Callao.  This week we just knocked alot of doors and found a lot of cool people.  It is just going to be hard to get them to church.  They cant get baptized if they dont come to church.  In my sector there is a couple that goes to church everyweek but they cant get baptized because they arent married, and they cant get married because Victorias birth certificate is in the provinces and they dont have enough money to travel to go get it for her so she cant get married, so we cant get her to the provinces to get that, I would have two baptisms.  But we will see what happens the stake president is trying to get it but it will never get done.  But it has been a great week I have enjoyed myself back in the work, I have been super exhuasted though, it is crazy how hard the work is on ya.  I just come home beat and ready to sleep but we have so much to do that we can`t.  But just keep praying that I can find people that will progress.
But that`s awesome that steph is gonna have her baby soon I can`t wait.  No one has told me yet what his name is going to be???????????????????
Hope that I could answer all of your questions and hope that you are all doing well.  I am doing great here in La chalaca.  O ya mom I already sent my transcript from Dixie State to Weber, I think that I only need my transcript from High school now. Thanks mom your the best and keep your eye out for anything from BYU. and let me know.  I was gonna tell you just to stick with Moroni Tours if they are helping you out a lot, whatever you do will be great.  What do you have planned?  Let me know, wish me luck fam.  Love you all alot.  Elder Stauffer

¡¡¡LA CHALACA 3!!!

Hey family so President Tyler is sending me to La Chalaca 3 which is a really sweet sector, people so  humble that it will be even a more of an eye opener for me right before I get home haha I am going to train and going to be a district leader.  Love you all so much and I made a little painting of my sector. and yes it is right next to the airport so I will be able to see all of the airplanes haha love you all alot wish me luck with my newbie and out in the middle of nowhere.  Love you all.

Hey Fam!!!

Family how are you all doing?  I am doing great just feeling a little wierd because I am gonna go back out AND WORK!!!! whoo hoo!!! haha I am pretty excited about it because President was thinking the same thing that I should go out and be in the field with the missionaries and work with them rather than just train them all of the time and I am so excited because I am going to one of the best sectors in the entire mission and will just be able to work and talk to everyone and their dogs about the Gospel and thats why Im here, im not here to sit in an office and train missionaries.  haha it was fun, I wouldnt trade it for the world but I just like working in a ward a lot more.  So I am pretty excited.  But some bad news, my pday is going to go back to mondays, so you wont hear from me until the next monday, this monday no, the next monday.  So it will be about 10 days before you hear from me, I will be doing some good work by then , so wish me luck.  President didnt have us help him with the changes this time so I don´t even know where I´m going actually but the last thing he told me was that I was going to go to the ward Rimac 1.  And it is amazing up there, I have done a couple work visits and you can just talk with everyone on the hills.  And he told me that I would probably be a District Leader, and so I am super excited to have a lot less responsability.  I will probably only have 4 Elders in my district.  haha I go from having 198 missionaries under my belt, to 4, sounds great to me.  haha but really everyone will still be watching me, its not like I am leaving the mission, they will still remember that I was assistant and that I need to give them a good example.  But I am super excited.  It is actually really common in our mission to only be assistant for a couple changes, because it isnt like Blakes mission where he gets to travel and all that it is alot simpler here in Lima so President Tyler is just trying to change a lot of things up in the mission because a lot of missionaries are in a Routine.  Dad do you remember how I used to always come home from school and you would ask me how my day was and I used to always say, "Routine".  That is what we try to avoid here in the mission because once the missionaries fall into a routine they don´t love what they do, they forget how to do the job right, they dont give it their all because they dont enjoy the work.  So we are just trying to do alot of different things this next change that is coming up and I am excited to be able to help from the field.  And I hope that I can drop all this wieght that I have gained here in the offices.  But it is alot different actually putting into practice now all that I have trained the Elders to do but I did it before so I can do it again.  Just pray for me that I will have the desire to just work hard and share the Gospel with everyone.  Wish me luck these last 4 months that I can give it my all to end strong.  I feel a strong desire to end strong..  But it still hasn´t hit me yet that really I dont have a lot left.  All of the members ask me how much time I have left and I say 4 months and they always say "O le falta poco" that is you dont have very much left.  haha and it still doesnt hit me. But at the same time I still have a lot left so we will just go for it.

Thanks mom for the great pictures of lacie, I cant believe that she is hanging in there for me..  She still looks good though.  And that you got to go down to St. George.  So I have applyed to a couple schools and alot of letters are gonna be coming from all of them, you can open them and read them for me.  I think that a letter from Weber state will be coming to the house telling me that i have to send in my transcript from northridge, if so you could just talk to Diane Larkin and she will know what to do, it costs a dollar.  Thanks mom.  Don´t worry about me I will be just fine and I am super excited to get back out and work.  I will let you know how it goes.  O ya some other bad news, we went to take pictures with the llama that day but it was closed and so they told us to come back on tuesday and it was a day of a counsil the we had with the zone leaders so we got there late and it was closed again.  Sorry mom I tried two times for you :(

Dad sounds like you are loving it... sometimes.... haha just keep working hard but don´t forget what is really important, like those feelings that you have in the st. George temple.  Just try to always have those feelings and I will too.  Your doing a great job and just enjoy it, don´t fall into that routine, do it because you love it...

Tory, Tammie, Branik, Brixston:  Thanks tamm for the update you are the best, well we are both going back to work, our fun days are over now, it is time to work..  Haha tell BT that he is the man and that I can´t wait to talk to him this Christmas.  BT LOVE YOU BUDDY.  And hope brixston stays that way for me when I get home.

Kody, Steph, Payton:  Hope all is well, you still haven´t told me what his name is .  when is he due, I am getting excited, he is gonna play football right?  LOve you guys.  PAY you are getting so old...  You better talk to me this christmas.  :)

Sister and Dev:  haha thats what you get for so much partying, now you are out of money.  JK I am not excited for those days to be poor and not have money...  :(  JK  but all is well wish me luck this change that is coming up.   LOVE YOU.

Well I am going to send this email but I will send you another one with where I am going to be for sure.  Love you very much.  Elder J Stauff

Hey fam how are you all doing?  I am doing just great now that I got to see all of the great pictures, It took me forever to see them all it was great thanks mom for all the pictures.  The family looks great and happy and so that is what is important.  You will never believe what Elder Webb showed me this week! My plane ticket home!  I came into the office and elder webb said hey elder stauffer, come over here and so I went over there and he showed me the voucher that the church sent to the office, man o man where is my mission going?  My time here in the office has flown by and and that is all the time that I have left.  But hey I just gotta keep working.  But I am really thinking about talking to President Tyler to let me go back out into the field and just WORK.   It is such hard work for us here in Perú and I feel like I still have alot to learn in these 4 months and I think that the best place for me to be is to be out in the hills knocking no doors and learning how to just WORK.  I will do whatever President wants me to do but I have loved the experience here in the office it has been awesome.  But one thing that I have learned is that I really love talking to everyone about the gospel rather than filling out reports making phone calls, training missionaries, taking care of their problems, doing the changes, etc.  But hey I´ll go and do right?

But here is the picture of us last week at the temple.  As you can see the sun is starting to come out alot more here in Lima and it is getting hot sometimes.  By the time you get here in march, it will be pretty humid.  I will never forget the feeling when I first took step off the plane here in Lima last year.  It was so hot in my suit.  It was crazy.  But glad mom that you liked that web site that I sent to you, hope that it all keeps going good.  A lot of missionaries use them when their parents come, so it will be great.  And yes I will try to get a picture with a llama for ya mom, I have seen those guys walking around with their llamas alot too but it is just that I cant really carry my camera around in the streets when I am proselyting if I want to keep my camera.  haha If you know what I mean?  As soon as I take out my camera it wont be mine anymore in my mission.. hahah haha but i will go to this one place I know of and take a few for you okay?  But thanks for the pic of tann, he looks like he is doing great.  Cant believe that Blake is almost done, how crazy is that, how is sonya feeling?

Thanks toads for the picture of the tow trucks, so we do have a rotator now?  And sweet that you learned a lot more.  Hope that you just enjoy this winter and work hard.  There is no better feeling of just being exhausted after a long days work, I LOVE IT.   I feel so accomplished when I get back to my room at night after talking with everyone and their dogs about the Gospel and just being beat.   It is the best feeling ever so that is why I think I wanna just go work for my last 4 months.  But keep up the great work.

Thanks sister for all of your great trips that you get to go on and then get to rub it into your little bros face, haha jk.  Tell tj not to worry about it and congrats for his new job, that will be great.  Hope all is well with him tell him.  And get better, I still remember when I first got here, and how sick I was... It was crazy.

Thanks pops for all of the great updates, you are doing a great job, just tell everyone to keep the trucks clean and to not smoke in them... I have been thinking about that a lot, are the kearns trucks clean or what?  And ya I will try and end strong my mission to bring more souls unto Christ.  Love ya pops

Well mom this week we had a talent show and Elder Diaz plays the guitar and loves to sing so we sung this funny mission song about the dear john letters that we get as missionaries and yes he made me sing but hey everyone laughed and so that was good, and we had alot of our investigators there in the chapel.  I will send a picture.  this week just gonna be doing the changes with Pres Tyler, and not a whole lot else.  Love ya lots.  Elder J Stauff

Hey Fam!!!

Hey fam so it looks like you guys are just living this last halloween up?  What we gonna do when I am home for it? haha jk.  Mom you look oficial, you look awesome, just putting the badge on makes you happy huh?  Thanks for all of the great pictures and for telling me what is going on, it sounds like just a whole lot of work.  Kod is gettin all trained up, and dad you seem pretty busy, that is awesome, better than not having anything to do.  It seems like you are really enjoying it, just keep up the great work, your doing great.  Mom you look so content in the pictures, your doing an awesome job with your calling, just count your blessings for how strong the church is in utah, here in Perú you tell everyone that the activity is gonna start at 6 and they get there at 7:30 like nothing even happened.  So just love how strong the church is.  And man I was laughing so hard when elder Noriega came out of the office so bummed because you thought he was a telemarketer.  haha I was laughing so hard, haha and said, "well that´s my mom for you, she always hangs up on them!" He just laughed and then I told sister webb that she should call before you got too worried and I had to leave the office and then she called me and said hey elder stauffer your mom wants to know the numbers of the jerseys downstairs.  Mom you are awesome.  Thanks for giving the number to me and ya I think that is a good idea.  But I have heard that if I go to a summer session at first it is easier to get into byu, and I think that I would really like to go to BYU.  Utah would be great too, so I will apply to both.  I will get started on that.  But yes there was an earthquake here in Peru and I felt it.  It was yesterday and we were in our room in the big building and I was brushing my teeth and it just started to shake it was crazy but ya all is well here in lima.  here are some pics, it was elder covingtons b day this week so alot of eating but some good food, pres tyler took us to chili´s for his b day.

Love ya mom keep up the great work, I am doing great here.  And oh ya I am willing to do what you want for the trip and maybe you could try moronitoursperu.com  alot of missionaries use them and they do everything.  It is a company just for missionary pick up, you would of thought that I would of told you by now huh?  love you.

Well fam hope that you all have an awesome halloween, make sure to send me pictures of the tow trucks.... STILL HAVENT SEEN ANYTHING. And dont forget the family pictures.  This week we found out that elder noriega is leaving the office and actually I wouldnt mind going back to work to finish my mission strong.  I want to help more people and just work super hard.  It is hard in the office but harder in the field and thats what I want I think ..  love you all a ton.  Elder J Stauff

HEY FAMILIA

Well just missing you guys all now, was a good week of emails, and pictures and I love hearing how everything is going for you guys just as much as you love hearing from me.  So thanks so much for all of you support, thanks mom for the great pictures, dad you look great, I showed elder diaz and Elder noriega, haha they laughed at ya.  Mom you look awesome, your the best and you know it.  Tory and tammie, you two are awesome, thanks for the great letters, tammie just enjoy not having to work, well your working as a mother but not in a job, and tor keep up the good work, just remember that sometimes your little bro down here in lima peru is pulling some late nights too, it has been crazy for me this last week.  But keep up the good work, your doing great.  Kod how did the hunt go?  NOw having kearns you sure arent telling me alot about what truck you drive or anything, fill me in, send me pics of the new trucks.  Steph how are you feeling?  Getting close right?  Whats his name? Branik , Brixston, and Pay pay love you all..  :)  BT are you getting ready for your mission?
Well a little about my week, this week has been alot of office stuff and not alot of missionary work, which gets me kinda bummed becasue I like to work but hey this is okay also, I cant complain.  I have really good friends here in the office and I am content.  This week elder Brinkerhoff left the hospital (the elder from the arequipa mission that got back surgery that we have been taking care of).  And so I think that it was tuesday that I got up at 6 and went to the hospital and had to sit with him until 12 until sister tyler came to pick us up, and man I had the worst cold on tuesday, but he finally got out and we have been taking good care of him.  His dad got to lima last night, and is staying in our room with us, he is great, he is from murray.  But this week we had to stay with elder brinkerhoff a bit because he has to have a companion too, which is kinda a pain for us, but thats okay.  And I did another work visit in El Rimac, it is just hills of houses, so poor and I LOVED IT. Just talked with all the people on their front porches is the greatest thing ever, giving out pamphlets it is awesome haha but it went to fast and then back to the office haha and that was about all that happened this week
But today we went to Chosica to the water falls again and it was great, but then we got back and they were painting the office and we tried the internet but the painters messed up the Internet and we couldnt fix it, so we had to walk until we found a internet store and so that is why it has taken me so long to write.  Thanks mom for the pictures of tann! isnt that cool?  haha that is the presidents house, the general authority talked about that house in general conference.  haha how cool huh?  and then that is about all.  What do you guys think?  where should I go byu or utah?  let me know.  sorry mom I cant send pictures because I dont have the network in the office to share the pictures with the elders, and they took all the pictures today,  thanks for the new memory card, I laughed when I got it, I was like ya my mom is sending me a sign to send pictures, but sorry mom the office computers arent working.  But it was perfect it is exactly what I needed.  But I am doing just fine happy as ever, and loving my mission, every minute of it actually because it is coming down to 4 months now.  CRAZY..........  But still alot to do..  Blake is getting there, how awesome.  Hope that you all have a great day, send me some more great pictures.  O ya that is awesome, a STAUFFER family party how awesome.  Tell them all that I am doing great down here in Lima.  It is getting to be spring weather down here, I got burnt today.  haha awesome.  LOVE YOU ALL A LOT HAVE AN AWESOME WEEK.  THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT, I FEEL SO GOOD KNOWING WHAT IS GOING ON AT HOME ELDER STAUFFER

Bautismo!!!!‏

Hey family, so these are pictures of Sister Miriam´s baptism.  She is awesome, everything went smoothly with the baptisms, as you can see members actually showed up, that was great, she was so excited and the members did an awesome job of being her friends.  She was so happy.  We were a little worried about the font, because it wasnt filling up very good, and so it was about a foot below my waste when i got in, but I just said lets do it she will go all the way under, and I did it and nope no problems she is pretty little.  Her son is right there with her, Nicolás, and today we are actually making a step forward with his dad.  Niclolás has a soccer team, and his dad is the coach and so his dad asked us if he could use the soccer court at the church, and so I think that we will be able to gain his confidence today in the afternoon.  Hope it all goes well.  And on sunday Miriam even got up and shared her testimony, it was awesome..  We found her through her friend Gisela mom, we always try to go to our sector and talk with the people there or visit the members and ask them for references.  And we found Miriam through her friend Gisela, it was great.  And yup this week I got to see tanner, on monday actually.  Sister webb called me and said, hey elder hendry is in here, and I was on my way back from Palao, and I told her to tell tanner to wait for me.  But he was gonna be in the offices all morning because his companion had to go to the mexico embassy.  And so I talked to tann for a while and then we were like lets go to lunch, and so we got in a taxi and headed to el centro de Lima and we went to this chicken place, so greesy and they gave us so much food, it was crazy.  But we took pictures and it was amazing to be able to be with tann.  How awesome is that that I get to be with Tanner on my mission? haha crazy huh?  But mom that is an amazing story of Elder Bateman, I am happy for him, he is awesome.  And then this week we had our 3 multizones and we had to train the missionaries and I taught how they can plan better and meet their goals, it went well.  With out problems.  Thanks mom for the fotos that is awesome that you got to be down in George, and that northridge won, hope they do well this year.  Dad just keep up the good work, now for me I wont be as busy I dont think, last night we got done with the Multizone and then had to go to Comas, it is in the west mission and took about an hour and a half to get there, we had to go the the city office to plan a service project that we are going to be doing in november, we are going to paint street lines on the roads and then they are gonna have more marriges for the missionaries´ investigators.  so we will see how it goes, we are gonna even wear the "helping hands" shirts.  So that was fun to leave the mission last night.
But lucky sister you are going to mexico, be careful, and learn spanish sister.  haha It is awesome! you can do it sister.  You have to say to all of the little kids..  " ¿Cómo estás? Mi nombre es Arin, ¿cúal es tu nombre? ¿Dónde vives?  ¿Cúantos años tienes?"  They will think that you are the coolest ever.
Toads hope that you got a big dear, good luck with that, and just enjoy being busy now, it is what you have always wanted, now work hard to make it all go smoothly with the new business.
Tory and tamm sweet kid, cant wait to see him...
Well today we are just gonna go buy ping pong paddles and play ping pong.  Love you all alot, next week will be really mellow for me.  Love elder Stauffer

We got 4000 books of mormon here in the office, 111 boxes of 36 books of mormon, and so I took a sweet picture on all of them, and then what else, the package that aunt connie sent me.  :)  Thanks reeds it was great to do the puzzle, and then elder Noriega with the eye that she sent me also, and sister webb helped me with the puzzle aunt connie.  :)

here are some awesome fotos to enjoy!! yup its tann and I :)
